Inclusion Issues
As a result of Public Law 94-142, many hearing impaired and special needs students are being placed into regular classrooms. HEARSAY offers seminars and on-going consultation services that support general classroom teachers by giving them helpful insights into the misunderstandings and language gaps of these children, and by suggesting useful techniques that will help make the inclusion situation more successful.
Inclusion Issues:
Understand how hearing loss affects language acquisition
Learn strategies to help with academic comprehension
Get helpful suggestions on seating, note-taking and peer relationships
Help childrens peers understand their hearing impaired friends
I worried about my daughter at school everyday. Then Mrs. Landis came into her life and made reading come alive for her. Its a joy when your child wakes up everyday and cant wait to go to school.
