Music
The HEARSAY music program is based on the idea that all children are born with inherent sensitivities and capacities that respond directly to the rhythmic and tonal variety of music. Work with numerous hearing impaired and special needs students has proven that many of these children show a more than average disposition toward music and that this innate musical ability does not seem to be dependent on the level of a childs hearing loss. Because of its multi-leveled learning, music enhances learning in speech, language, communication, and auditory skills.
Use music to:
Enhance auditory training and memory
Improve speech and language
Augment cultural literacy
Help hearing impaired children included in regular music classes
Provide music experiences outside of school
Establish your own music program:
Learn where to start
Establish a music curriculum
Build a skills check list
Choose instruments to augment your program
